Saturday Night Live once again took aim at Donald Trump in its recent cold open, poking fun at several major moments in the last few weeks of his presidency, including the release of a new batch of photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate.
During the Saturday, December 13 episode, the show once again featured the president, portrayed by James Austin Johnson, as he held a press conference aboard Air Force One, featuring Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt (portrayed by Ashley Padilla).
However, while many slammed the skit and called Johnson “truly horrible” with his portrayal of the president, the NBC show didn’t hesitate to once again put a spotlight on his latest controversies. It comes after SNL coined a new word to mock Trump’s alleged health issues.
In addition to poking at his recent unflattering comments about CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, as well as the seizing of a Venezuelan oil tanker, the show took aim at the recently released photographs, which showed more of Trump’s relationship with the late financier and convicted pedophile, as well as other high-profile figures like former President Bill Clinton.
The skit started off with Johnson’s Trump hiding behind a curtain as he informed reporters he had taken “both an Ambien and an Adderall,” before he went off on a tangent about Padilla’s Leavitt’s lips.

He then talks to Chloe Fineman’s Collins, as well as other reporters, about the Venezuela incident and the affordability crisis he has repeatedly referred to as a “Democratic hoax.”
“No, it’s a made-up term, affordability,” he says in the clip.
“The economy is very strong. Everyone’s fine, from the billionaires all the way down to the poor poor millionaires who we’re praying for every night,” he continues. “Which is a miracle because I inherited a mess of an economy from the awful presidency that came before me, like Biden and Trump. This guy, this guy did a real number on this place.”
He then insists that a male reporter ask him a question, which eventually leads to the exchange about the Epstein photos, which were released this week by House Democrats.

At first, he takes a stance that the images are fakes. “The fact is, these photos are a fake news, Democrat hoax,” he says.
However, he later changes his tune after one of the reporters points out that there was one that seemingly favored the President. “Well, even the picture of a bowl of condoms with your face on them, and the text saying, ‘I’m huge?’” The reporter asks.

“They’re 100% legit, I love those files, I’m in the files. I took a lot of great pictures!” Johnson’s Trump then adds.
When the real Trump was asked earlier this week about the pics released, he said, “Well, I haven’t seen it, but I mean, everybody knew this man.”
“He was all over Palm Beach. He has photos with everybody. I mean, almost there are hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him,” Trump said. “So that’s no big deal. I know nothing about it.”
