Fourteen days after 15-year-old Ja’Derrius Minnieweather disappeared in Baton Rouge’s “Ghost Town” area, search efforts remain active as family members, volunteers, and law enforcement continue their desperate quest for answers.
Ja’Derrius was last seen on June 5, 2026, and despite extensive searches across numerous high-probability locations, the teenager remains missing.
Search Teams Continue Exhaustive Efforts

Over the past two weeks, family members, law enforcement agencies, Team Texas K9, and volunteers with the United Cajun Navy have combed numerous areas throughout Baton Rouge.
Search locations and information gathered during those operations continue to be documented and shared with investigators.
Officials say every lead and tip is being examined as they work to locate the missing teen.
Incident Commander Travels From Mississippi to Continue Searc

United Cajun Navy Incident Commander Josh Gill traveled directly from Anchor Lake, Mississippi, where he had been assisting with potential flooding concerns, to Baton Rouge to continue supporting the search mission.
According to the organization, Gill remains committed to helping bring answers to Ja’Derrius’ family.
Like many involved in the effort, volunteers say they will continue searching until answers are found.
Public Urged to Review Cameras and Check Property

Authorities and volunteers are asking residents to remain vigilant.
Community members are encouraged to review security camera footage, inspect their properties, sheds, and outbuildings, and report anything suspicious to investigators.
Search teams believe even the smallest detail could prove crucial.

As two weeks pass without answers, hope remains that someone knows something that could bring Ja’Derrius home.
