Mike has been a royal for over a decade
Tike Tindall has revealed what he’d do if he was offered the title of prince by the royal family.
The former rugby star, 46, currently holds no royal title, despite being married to Princess Anne‘s daughter, Zara Tindall.

Why doesn’t Mike Tindall have a royal title?
Mike has been a part of the royal family since 2011 when he tied the knot with Anne’s daughter, Zara.
The couple, who met in 2003, have three children together – 11-year-old Mia, six-year-old Lena, and four-year-old Lucas.
Being a member of the royal family, you’d be forgiven in thinking that Mike should be entitled to a royal title. However, this isn’t the case.
His wife, Zara, is royalty and was the late Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter.
Both Zara and her brother Peter Phillips don’t have royal titles. This was a decision made by Anne when they were born.

Zara Tindall on not having a royal title
Princess Anne did have the option to bestow her children with a royal title when they got older. But, she opted not to.
Zara has spoken in the past about how she’s happy not having a royal title.
Speaking on The Total Sport Podcast, she said: “From my point of view, I was obviously very lucky that my mother didn’t give us any titles so I really commend her on that.
“We were very lucky that we got to do it a bit our own way. My family has a great work ethic as well which I’m hoping they instilled in me and is still going to this day.”

Mike Tindall on ‘turning down’ prince title
During a recent conversation with Closer magazine, Mike spoke about his potential reaction if he was offered a royal title.
“I would definitely turn that down,” he said.
However, Mike spoke very highly of the royal family.
He added: “Princess Anne loves rugby. Also, at the time [of his rugby career], William and Harry went to a lot of our games. So through them I met Eugenie and Beatrice and other members, including the queen. They were always good at making me feel at ease.”
The lack of royal titles for Zara and her family has given them a reputation as very down-to-earth royals.
It’s also given them the best of both worlds – royal connections and a royal life, without all the royal constraints.
