Kate Middleton shows off ‘impressive’ singing talent in adorable clip from school play
The royal was confident on stage!
Ayoung Kate Middleton once wowed an audience during a school production with her singing voice.
The royal, who is now the Princess of Wales, gave her rendition of Wouldn’t It Be Lovely, from the much-loved musical My Fair Lady when she was in Primary school.
The clip first went viral in 2014, but is doing the rounds again.

At the time, the young Kate Middleton was just 11 years old, and taking part in a school play.
It was recorded during a performance at St Andrew’s School in Pangbourne, Berkshire, where she grew up. Princess Catherine attended the private school in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The future queen played the lead part of Eliza Doolittle in the production, and put on her best cockney accent for the role.
In the video, which was shared widely online, she carries a basket and has a shawl wrapped around her shoulders. As she sings the song, Wouldn’t It Be Lovely, her classmates are on stage, swaying along with her. The story follows a flower girl who is taught to pass as a member of aristocracy.
It’s believed the clip was recorded in 1993, before it was initially shared in 2014, a few years after she married Prince William.
It resurfaced again in 2019, before it went viral again four years later.
Fans were impressed with Kate Middleton’s singing, with one saying at the time: “Big fan of kids doing musical theatre even when they aren’t royals! She did a great job!”
Someone else said: “Fabulous and only 11 years old!”, which was echoed by another user: “Impressive – especially with the accent!”
While a fourth penned: “She was note perfect and she had perfect rhythm and timing.That was very advanced for an 11 year old… she plays the piano too.”

Is Kate Middleton a singer?
The royal clearly has some talent as she nabbed the lead part of the production, but it seems she has chosen not to sing in public since childhood.
Although Kate Middleton hasn’t done much singing in public since, it’s clear that music still resonates with the royal.
The now mum-of-three went on to study at St Andrew’s University where she met her future husband, William.
Princess Catherine’s piano skills
Kate Middleton not only enjoying singing, but was a keen pianist and would sing in the choir and play the flute.
She played in the school’s chamber orchestra and in a senior flute group, which was reportedly called the Tootie-Flooties, and she was a deputy head chorister in the chapel choir.
Catherine showed off her piano-playing skills in recent years, including playing during her Westminster Abbey Christmas Eve Carol Service in 2021.
She also had a cameo during the Eurovision broadcast in 2023.
