Karoline Leavitt made history when she became the youngest-ever White House press secretary in January and during the first few months of Donald Trump’s second term, the 27-year-old has certainly been busy.
In recent weeks Leavitt has vigorously defended Trump’s mass deportations of migrants, been accused of spreading misinformation, repeatedly clashed with journalists as she seeks to re-structure the White House press pool, and has been slammed for attempting to play down a Signal group chat scandal. Despite being the youngest White House press secretary in history, Leavitt is familiar in dealing with the fallout of Trump’s controversial decisions.
Leavitt, who interned at Fox News and the White House while studying for a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, worked as Trump’s press secretary during the 2024 campaign trail. In October last year, she gave an insight into exactly what her day-to-day schedule entails as she claimed “No one works harder than President Trump”, in a video posted to Instagram.

“Come with me for a day in the life as President Trump’s press secretary,” Leavitt said while standing in front of The Trump Organization’s Boeing 757, nicknamed Trump Force One in reference to the presidential plane Air Force One. “*72 hours* in the life,” she corrected in the caption.
The day started with Leavitt boarding Trump Force One, giving viewers a look at the decadent interior. “Welcome to the notorious Trump Force One where even the coffee cups are branded,” she said while holding a cup that read “TRUMP MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN”.
“Goodbye West Palm and it is rally day in Erie, Pennsylvania,” Leavitt said as she disembarked the plane. “We are met with an amazing crowd of supporters as our motorcade passes by.”

Leavitt could then be seen speaking to a reporter at the rally. “I have a quick TV hit before President Trump takes the stage and the crowd goes wild listening to his message to make America strong and safe and wealthy again,” she said.
The press secretary boarded Trump Force One again alongside the president and his team, where they were treated to a very American lunch. “We load back up onto the plane, McDonald’s is served and the football is on for good measure,” she said.

Leavitt revealed the group landed back in New York for one night only before an early start for morning media as she showed a clock by her bedside indicating it was 4.55am. “President Trump works so hard, late nights, early mornings are the norm,” she claimed.
The press secretary headed to the Fox News studio, where she said that Kamala Harris would be a “disaster” as president before returning to Trump Tower for an interview Trump was doing. “Once he wrapped we immediately hit the road for Georgia to tour devastation from hurricane Helene,” Leavitt said as she showed clips of Trump walking around the devastated region.

“It’s always so inspiring to see how much hope president Trump brings to people across our country everywhere he goes and with that, we’re back in West Palm Beach,” she concluded. When Trump was elected president the following month, he announced that he’d be bringing Leavitt to the White House with him.
“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary,” he said in a November statement. “Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American people as we, Make America Great Again.”
