Prince Harry and Meghan Preparing for Major UK Return With Archie and Lilibet After Four-Year Absence
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to Britain this July, marking the first time the Sussex family will have returned to the UK together in more than four years.
The trip is expected to coincide with a special event marking one year until the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, with Harry playing a central role in promoting the competition he founded.
For Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, it would be their first visit to Britain since they joined their parents during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Harry Reportedly Eager for Children to Reconnect With Family
Sources close to the Duke say Harry is excited about the possibility of bringing his children back to his homeland and allowing them to reconnect with family members, including King Charles.
According to an associate in Los Angeles, the Duke believes the visit could help strengthen ties between father and son after several difficult years.
The source claimed that Harry hopes the trip could pave the way for a more peaceful and lasting relationship with the King.
Archie and Lilibet have reportedly not seen their grandfather in person since 2022.
Security Concerns Have Long Been a Sticking Point
One of Harry’s biggest concerns has always been security.
The Duke has repeatedly said that he would not bring Meghan and the children to Britain without appropriate protection.
Although he lost his legal challenge over automatic police security, reports suggest he later secured a comprehensive risk assessment and has been given assurances regarding arrangements for the family’s upcoming stay.
Long-term decisions regarding protection remain under consideration by Ravec, the committee responsible for royal and VIP security.
Invictus Games and Charity Visits Planned
In addition to promoting the 2027 Invictus Games, Harry is expected to meet with several charities with which he maintains close connections, including WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
The Birmingham Games will bring together wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world and remain one of Harry’s most cherished projects.
Could This Mark a New Chapter?
While questions remain over whether King Charles will be able to spend time with his grandchildren during the visit, sources suggest there is a growing sense that all sides are seeking peace.
After years marked by public disagreements and strained relations, the Sussex family’s return could become one of the most closely watched royal moments of 2026.
Whether it leads to a deeper reconciliation remains uncertain, but for Harry, the opportunity to show Archie and Lilibet the country where he grew up—and perhaps reconnect them with their grandfather—appears to be a priority.
