Princess Andre has opened up about the incredibly close bond she shares with her stepmother Emily — the NHS doctor who she says created a “safe and happy” home for her after what she has described as an unhappy childhood.
The 18-year-old daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre, who recently starred in her own fly-on-the-wall BBC1 series The Princess Diaries, spoke candidly about the relationship during the show, which offered viewers an intimate look into her private home life.
Several touching scenes aired last week showing Princess and Emily sharing relaxed, affectionate moments together — from everyday chats to deeper conversations about life, love and heartbreak.
Princess revealed she often turns to Emily for romantic advice, while insiders described the doctor as her ultimate “shoulder to cry on”.

Those heart-warming scenes stood in stark contrast to a deeply emotional confession, in which Princess admitted she had endured an “unhappy childhood” and had “seen things kids shouldn’t”, adding that she is still recovering from what she called her mother’s “dark times”.
A source told The Sun:
“Emily gives Princess stability and a lot of love, but Princess knows she can never openly praise Emily or share stories about her life at home with Katie. That’s very hard when you love someone so much. Princess probably feels she’s forced to hold back.”
Princess met Emily when she was just three years old
Princess first met Emily when she was just three years old, after her father Peter began dating the NHS doctor following the breakdown of his marriage to Katie Price.
Despite being young herself and juggling university commitments, Emily slipped seamlessly into the role of caregiver to Peter’s two children, Princess and Junior.
The close look at Princess’s home life which aired last week on BBC1 showed several sweet scenes between the budding star and her stepmother
The source continued:
“Emily was so young when she became a stepmum to Princess, and as Princess gets older, her respect and admiration for Emily has only grown. She understands how difficult it must have been, yet Emily never showed it — and that makes her even more special in Princess’s eyes.”
They added that the family home Emily has built for Princess, Junior and the three children she shares with Peter — Amelia, 11, Theo, nine, and baby Arabella, now 13 months — is “safe and happy”.

Now that Princess is becoming an adult, the pair reportedly talk about everything, from her career ambitions to her most personal struggles.
Last year, Princess summed up her feelings in an interview, saying simply:
“She’s the perfect stepmother. I couldn’t have asked for better.”
They came in stark contrast to an emotional moment where Princess admitted she had an ‘unhappy childhood’ and ‘saw things kids shouldn’t’ – and is still recovering from her mother’s ‘dark times’
The Princess Diaries follows Princess as she turns 18, navigates life in the public eye and mourns the end of a two-year relationship with her unnamed former boyfriend.
In one raw moment, she tells Emily she can’t yet “picture” herself with anyone else and feels “lost and confused” following the split.
A source told the Sun: ‘Emily gives Princess stability and a lot of love, but Princess knows she can never praise Emily or share stories about her life at home with Katie’
“I don’t think I’m ready to move on,” she admits. “Another relationship doesn’t interest me right now. Me and my ex are still in touch — we’re friends, but there’s still a lot of love there.”

Emily gently reassures her, encouraging her to take time alone before jumping into anything new.
“It’s important to have time to yourself,” she advises. “Find out who you are. You’re a big catch.”
The revelations come after Princess laid bare the impact of her parents’ tumultuous divorce, admitting she had “so much on my plate at such a young age”.
They added that the home she provided for Princess and her brother Junior, as well as the three children she shares with Pete, is ‘safe and happy’ (pictured Junior, Peter and Princess)
She described how her mother Katie fell into a dark period following her 2018 split from third husband Kieran Hayler, with whom she shares Bunny, 10, and Jett, 11. Katie has since spoken openly about her struggles with drugs, alcohol and a suicide attempt — something Princess now says deeply affected her growing up.
Elsewhere in the show, Princess admits she sees a counsellor and once felt unable to confide in her father due to tensions between her parents.

“She is so unpredictable and lives life without caring,” Princess says of her mum. “I wish I had that mindset — because I care deeply, and I’ll go to bed and cry about it.”

Despite everything, Princess is already building an impressive career of her own, signing major deals with brands such as Superdrug, Morphe, Revolution and Studio London. Television bosses are said to be keen to see her succeed — and are wary of anything jeopardising her future as a rising star.
Meanwhile, Emily has spoken about parenting with Peter, revealing they often have different approaches — from stair gates to finally giving their eldest child Amelia a mobile phone, under strict rules due to the dangers of social media.
Through it all, one thing is clear: for Princess Andre, Emily is far more than a stepmother — she is the person who helped her find safety, stability and a sense of home when she needed it most.
