The Real Housewives of London are keeping up with the royal family.

In a new series trailer released on Tuesday, July 15, cast member Panthea Parker is seen in a car with her husband, British lawyer Ed Parker, who says in a voiceover, “Okay, my darling, off to the palace.” They appear to be heading to a Buckingham Palace garden party, which they attended in May. During the ride, Panthea says that she planned to ask King Charles about his rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“I’m going to go, ‘How do you feel about Harry and what he did?’ ” she said.

Ed replies, appearing to read from a booklet, “It says, specifically, ‘Do not ask the monarch about Harry and Meghan.’ “

Ed was likely joking about the instructions, as Buckingham Palace typically doesn’t provide guidance on talking points to guests of royal events.

However, guests at a charity lunch in 2018 were given a laminated card with a quick run-down of protocol regarding attendees Prince William and Kate Middleton, although the prince reportedly “just laughed” upon learning about the card.

The royal family’s rift became public in 2020 after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal roles. Tensions continued after Prince Harry and Meghan’s bombshell revelations in their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir, Spare.

Signs of a possible reconciliation between Harry and King Charles might be on the horizon, however, after senior aides from both sides held a meeting in London last week in an apparent olive branch move.

Meredith Maines, the Duke of Sussex’s chief of staff and communications director, met with Tobyn Andreae, King Charles’ communications secretary, after flying in from Montecito, California, on July 9. Liam Maguire, who oversees U.K. press for Harry and Meghan, was also in attendance.

Maines’ visit to London included meetings with the U.K.-based communications team, media contacts, stakeholders and senior figures connected to the Duke’s patronages.

The meeting comes after Prince Harry said that the door to “reconciliation” remains open in a BBC interview in May. “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he noted at the time.

The Real Housewives of London is set to premiere on Aug. 18 in the U.K. on Hayu. Currently, the series doesn’t have a U.S. premiere date.
