Sarah Ferguson is said to feel “incredibly betrayed” by members of the Royal Family amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
The former duchess of York, 66, has faced intense criticism for her past association with the convicted sex offender. She and her former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were mentioned several times in the latest releases of the files, and in emails to the sex fiend, Ms Ferguson called him her “dear spectacular and special friend”.
King Charles booted out both Ms Ferguson and Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, also 66, from Royal Lodge. However, a source has now revealed Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife is currently feeling deeply hurt and isolated.
The insider said: “Sarah feels incredibly betrayed… Fergie’s very bitter, she’s angry and feels wronged by everyone in the family.” They added they believe the author is too polite to confront anyone.

Fergie, who divorced Mr Mountbatten-Windsor in 1996, was not offered a royal residence when she and the former Navy pilot left Royal Lodge. Her exact whereabouts are uncertain, but reports suggest that she has been “sofa surfing”, staying with a network of wealthy friends while keeping a low profile.
The source told Heat World the mother of two is “very bitter” following the fallout. They continued: “What people don’t see is just how low she’s sunk. Every time she opens a paper or goes online, it’s another reminder that she’s completely on the outside and there’s no real way back, and she’s really struggling to come to terms with that.
“Instead of dealing with it, she’s numbing it — and that’s only making everything worse. It fuels a cycle where she starts ranting and then feels even more isolated the next day.”
While Ms Ferguson’s whereabouts are unclear, it is thought she has decided against moving to the US as she fears scrutiny from Epstein’s victims. The ex-duchess had spent a lot of time in America promoting her business interests but she is now said to be increasingly fearful of returning amid damaging revelations from the Epstein files. Only two weeks ago, a US lawmaker wrote to the mother of two, urging her to testify to Congress about the paedophile.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, meanwhile, has now relocated to the Sandringham Estate. He was snapped there smiling behind the wheel of a car this week, despite being left out of the Royal family’s Easter gathering just days earlier. He’s currently residing at Wood Farm, a secluded property used as a royal “retreat” which once served as Prince Philip’s home while Marsh Farm is a former empty farmhouse which has been undergoing renovations. Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, though, denies any wrongdoing.
