INTERNET CAN’T COPE — AngryGinge’s £420,000 Home Isn’t a Flex… It’s a Thank-You

I’m A Celebrity winner AngryGinge has marked one of the most emotional milestones of his life by buying his first home — a stunning £420,000 mock-Tudor newbuild in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester — after earning an astonishing £1.4million before even turning 25.

His Manchester-based estate agent Jamie Burke posted on Instagram to mark Burtwistle's purchase, sharing an image of them shaking hands and handing over the keys in the influencer's brand new kitchenHis Manchester-based estate agent Jamie Burke posted on Instagram to mark Burtwistle’s purchase, sharing an image of them shaking hands and handing over the keys in the influencer’s brand new kitchen

The Twitch sensation, real name Morgan Burtwistle, picked up the keys in June last year, completing a journey few could have imagined just a handful of years ago.

His Manchester estate agent Jamie Burke shared a celebratory snap on Instagram, showing the pair shaking hands inside the influencer’s gleaming new kitchen, writing: “New home day… and a pleasure handing over the keys.”

The Salford-born star now boasts more than five million followers across social media and is believed to have earned over £1million in the last year alone — a rise that left him able to invest in a three-bedroom, high-spec family home complete with two luxury bathrooms, expansive front and back gardens, a hot tub, covered patio and sweeping driveway.

But for Burtwistle, the house is not a flex.

It is a symbol.

He opened up about his childhood on I'm A Celeb, saying: 'We've got no problems getting our hands stuck in, because that's what we've had to do from being little to where we are now'. He has spoken openly about growing up on a council estate in Eccles with his sister Tasha, raised by their single mum Michelle, who juggled school kitchen shifts, cleaning and care work to earn just £12,500 a year.

He heaped praise on his mother, who worked tirelessly to support the family while he was growing up: 'If she can do it then I can do this in the jungle, so that's what keeps me going really'. Inside the jungle, he told campmates how his mum would go straight from one job to the next without rest.
“If she can do it, then I can do this,” he said. “That’s what keeps me going.”

That determination was forged in hardship.

At 18, desperate to ease the financial pressure at home, Burtwistle moved in with his grandmother before renting what he brutally described as a “s***hole” flat — no shower, mould on the walls, peeling wallpaper and even a broken door handle — all for £350 a month.Burtwistle previously rented a 's***hole' apartment (pictured) with no shower, peeling wallpaper, mould and a door without a handle for £350 a month

He called the flat (pictured) a 'pub' because followers often questioned if he really lived there ¿ and its carpet was suitably grottyFollowers joked it looked more like a pub than a home.

Just five years ago, he was earning £450 a month working as a school “dinner lady”. He nearly quit Twitch altogether after months of low viewership — until tragedy struck in 2021 when his grandfather died from Covid.

He returned to streaming with renewed focus, broadcasting up to ten hours a day, turning his first £12.44 FIFA livestream into a monthly income that soon exploded into thousands.

Two years ago, he used prize money from a streamed football event to wipe out all of his mum’s debts.

Sau chiến thắng trong chương trình I'm A Celebrity, AngryGinge đã hồi tưởng lại cuộc sống của mình chỉ cách đây 5 năm, khi anh còn làm "nhân viên phục vụ bữa ăn" ở trường học và chỉ kiếm được 450 bảng Anh mỗi tháng.After his I’m A Celebrity win, AngryGinge reflected on his life just five years ago, where he was working as a school ‘dinner lady’ and earning just £450 a month.

That devotion stands in stark contrast to his fractured relationship with his father, truck driver Lee Smith, whom Burtwistle has described as a “dead-beat dad” after he walked out on the family during his childhood.

He has spoken of chaotic late-night visits, police involvement and court battles over maintenance — adding that if he saw his father today, he would simply walk past him.

Now, after becoming the first social-media star to be crowned King of the Jungle — pulling in a record-breaking 13 million votes — Burtwistle has not only secured his own future, but fulfilled a lifelong dream for his mum by flying her to Australia, the place she had always wanted to visit.

From mould-covered flats to luxury family living, AngryGinge’s £420,000 home isn’t about wealth.

It’s about survival, sacrifice — and a son finally giving back to the woman who built him.
