rincess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is spending time on an exclusive island that has only around 800 residents. The property developer posted that he had travelled to the Fisher Island Club, off the coast of Miami in Florida.

In a series of photos shared to Instagram, Edoardo, 42, visited a construction site that was likely related to his work. There was no sign in the shots of his wife Beatrice, 37, or their two children, daughters Sienna, three, and Athena, one, suggesting he travelled there alone.

The remote US resort is a favourite of A-listers like Oprah Winfrey and Julia Roberts. On its website, the club describes itself as “an indulgent retreat for those who appreciate the ultimate in privacy and exclusivity”, and not only is it only accessible by private jet or ferry, but guests are also required to undergo prior security clearance.

Spanning 216 acres, it is reported to be home to just 800 or so residents. Edoardo, who it is unclear if he is staying on the island, also shared a video from a plane of what appeared to be the sunny resort surrounded by blue waters.

Edoardo, who is the founder and CEO of Banda Property, a property development and interior design company, previously posted from similarly upmarket Palm Beach that is also in Florida. In a post on Instagram, shared in early February, he was seen exploring the area and attending events.

The businessman usually lives with Beatrice, whom he married in 2020, and their children between their apartment in London’s St James’s Palace and a converted farmhouse in the Cotswolds. He is also father to a son named Christopher, nine, from his previous relationship with architect Dara Huang.

Challenging times

Edoardo’s US travel comes as the royal family continues to reel from his father-in-law Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s fall from grace amid the Epstein scandal and recent arrest. Indeed, Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie, 35, are understood to be experiencing the cold shoulder of the Princess of Wales.

Emily Nash, HELLO!‘s Royal Editor, comments: “Kate has been a central member of the royal family for 15 years now and knows them all well, but like William, she is very aware of public opinion and the risk that this scandal poses to the monarchy’s reputation. They will understandably want to distance themselves as much as possible from it.”

Andrew, 66, is still under investigation on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The late Queen Elizabeth’s son is temporarily living at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate while what is intended to be his permanent property, Marsh Farm, is being renovated.
