Karoline Leavitt has shared a rare photo of her husband while celebrating a personal milestone at the weekend.

The White House Press Secretary turned 28 on Sunday and spent the special day with her family in New Hampshire. She took to Instagram to share some snaps of her birthday, featuring both her husband Nicholas Riccio, 59, and their little son Niko, who turned one last month.

In the first photo, taken at the beach, the mom-of-one smiled at the camera while wearing a short white dress over a swimsuit which she paired with sunglasses. Little Niko, also wearing a swimming costume, looked at the camera as his mom held him.

The second snap showed Karoline and her husband smiling with the sea in the background as they posed for a selfie alongside little Niko. She also shared a third snap of two cards she received from her husband and her son – one reading “Happy Birthday to My Wife … My Otter Half,” and featuring an image of two otters hugging, while another, from Niko, was decorated with balloons and party gear and read, “Mom… You’re the coolest.”

The photo also showed a bunch of flowers in the background. Karoline wrote “28” in the caption, adding several emojis including a cake, hearts, the sea and the American flag. Many fans wished her a happy birthday, with one saying, “Happy Birthday. Keep shining, you are such an inspiration!”

Another wrote, “Happy Birthday Karoline!! Hope you have a great year ahead!!” A third said, “Happy birthday to the pride of the granite state!!! You are everything this wife, mom, daughter, & patriot aspires to be!” A fan added, “Only 28?!?! Wow! You’ve done more with your few years than some people will do with a lifetime. Very inspiring!”

Someone else commented, “You are incredible!! Happy Birthday!!!” One more wrote, “To the most amazing US press secretary ever, happy birthday! Your communication skills have taught me so much. And you’re a wonderful mother and example to women everywhere! Thank you for being you.”

It comes after Karoline began her birthday celebrations early last week with a lavish display from her co-workers in team Trump. Her colleagues did their best to make her feel special ahead of her big day with an array of decorations, treats and luxury gifts. The elaborate celebration was a huge surprise for Karoline who was captured on camera by President Trump aide Margo Martin, who is a Special Assistant and Communications Advisor.

The clip of Karoline – who was recently ridiculed on animated comedy series South Park – reacting as she entered what appeared to be The Roosevelt Room in The White House was uploaded to Instagram on Thursday morning. Several members of the team stood near a heavily laden table in the middle of the room.

Karoline was seen beaming as she confessed, “This is so embarrassing,” while everyone gathered sang Happy Birthday to her. She then exclaimed, “Oh my gosh,” as everyone began clapping for her. The table had confetti and decorations all over, with a nearby chair anchoring silver and pink balloons in the shape of the number 28.

There was a spread of donuts and fruit, as well as water and coffee, and the presents included something inside a bag from designer Louis Vuitton. Karoline is known to appreciate the brand and has often been snapped carrying her $2,170 monogram Neverfull tote bag. Captioning the video clip Margot wrote, “Happy early birthday @karolineleavitt,” adding a crying-laughing emoji and a smiley emoji wearing a birthday hat.
