Growing attention around Prince George’s future is reigniting claims about Prince Harry’s long-held fear of being overshadowed by William’s children

A new royal debate over Prince George of Wales’s future schooling is drawing huge public attention across Britain — and it’s also reviving long-running conversation around one of Prince Harry’s reported private fears.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton has suggested the fascination around George’s schooling reflects a wider shift already happening inside the monarchy — with public focus increasingly moving toward the children of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

According to Morton, this may also echo something Prince Harry is believed to have worried about for years: that one day his role in the public eye would naturally fade as William’s children grew older and stepped closer to the center of royal life.

Among the names being discussed are Eton College — famously attended by Prince William — and Oundle School, a co-educational boarding school some believe could appeal to the Wales family if they hope to keep all three children on a similar path.

Royal watchers note that Oundle would also potentially allow Princess Charlotte of Wales to later follow the same route as her brother.

Others believe Eton remains the most likely choice, especially given its royal history and its close location to the Wales family’s home.
