Aitch has finally addressed the growing rumors about his relationship with Shona McGarty, denying any romantic involvement during their time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. Despite fans speculating about a jungle romance, the 25-year-old rapper made it clear that their bond was purely platonic, with music being their shared connection.
Aitch, 25, has denied the romance rumours between himself and Shona saying their bond was over music as the EastEnders actress wants to start a music career
When asked by the Daily Mail about the rumors, Aitch stated, “Romantic, no, not at all. She’s a good friend of mine. We had a bond over music. 95% of our conversations in the jungle were literally just about how amazing she is at singing.”
In the first week Aitch hinted that a new romance could be on the cards for him when he revealed he had ‘a soft spot for Shona’
Aitch also revealed that Shona is determined to pursue a singing career after the show, saying, “I knew that she was trying to come out of the Jungle and pursue a music career. Most of our conversations were me telling her she sings so well and needs to stop being so scared and just go for it.”
Aitch said Shona was like ‘his big sister’ in the camp and most of their conversations were him telling her not to be so scared to perform
The rumors first sparked when Aitch confessed that he had “a soft spot” for Shona during the first week of I’m A Celebrity. Despite the connection, Aitch clarified that he viewed Shona like a “big sister,” and their bond was rooted in mutual support for each other’s aspirations.
Fans, however, were convinced that there was more to their relationship, especially after both Aitch and Shona became single during the show—Shona having recently ended a nine-year relationship with her fiancé, David Bracken, and Aitch breaking up with his girlfriend, Lois Cottam, just before entering the jungle.
Ruby Wax, who appeared on I’m A Celeb, even weighed in on the situation, stating that Shona’s ideal partner would be a “hunky man, bigger men,” not Aitch. She also revealed that she had tried to encourage a romantic connection between the two, but it was clear that nothing would come of it.
The drama intensified when Aitch and Shona shared some playful moments in the jungle, including a close-contact pillow fight and a deep conversation about each other’s eyes. The pair’s interactions had fans buzzing, and even long-time host Ant McPartlin encouraged the idea of a jungle romance, saying, “I love it. I just want to find love in the jungle.”
Despite all the speculation, Aitch has remained firm in his stance, and Shona, who has expressed her gratitude for the support, continues to focus on her career aspirations.
What’s next for these two? Will their bond evolve once the jungle experience is over?
