Rob Rinder has finally spoken out after months of speculation about his supposed romance with Rylan Clark, putting a playful but firm stop to the rumours.
Appearing on This Morning on Thursday (August 28) to promote his new Channel 4 series The Inheritance, Rob found himself cornered when the conversation turned to his friendship with Rylan â and whether it was more than that.
When asked who heâd leave his estate to, Rob teased: âNot to you â although given that online weâre already married with twins, you might be entitled by law.â He laughed before clarifying: âWe arenât married. They keep making these AI pictures.â
Rylan, sitting alongside Josie Gibson, rolled his eyes as the crowd chuckled. Josie admitted that fans often stop her in the street to ask if the pair are secretly together, while Rylan added: âThe amount of congratulations Iâve had!â
Rob then mischievously raised his hand, showing off a ring on his wedding finger. âIâd just like to say that it is a little bit true â but the wedding night was very, very disappointing. The wedding was nice but he over-promised and under-delivered.â
Looking straight at the camera, Rylan shot back: âNow you can all see what I have to put up with.â Josie chimed in: âYou might not be romantically involved, but you are involved â and it just works.â
The pair, who will soon front their new series Rob and Rylanâs Grand Tour in India, admitted their relationship does feel a lot like a marriage. âYeah, we row all the time and we donât sleep in the same bed,â Rylan quipped. Rob added: âThatâs a proper marriage.â
Although the pair have never confirmed any romance, Rylan has previously confessed to having an âintense connectionâ with Rob. âWeâd marry each other tomorrow,â he once said â though Rob was quick to clarify it would be a platonic union.
Rylan explained: âI donât get connections like this often. I could call Rob at three in the morning and heâd be laughing with me in seconds. But if I needed help, heâd be there straight away â and it works both ways.â
