The BBC is reportedly preparing a major hosting overhaul on Strictly Come Dancing, and two very familiar faces are at the top of their wish list â Holly Willoughby and Anton Du Beke.
According to reports, show bosses have been âdesperate to lure Holly over from ITVâ for years, and now that long-time presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have confirmed their departure, the timing couldnât be more perfectA shocking exit that rocked the ballroom
Just last week, Tess and Claudia stunned fans by announcing on social media that theyâll be stepping down at the end of the current series.
In a heartfelt joint video, they revealed:
âWe were always going to leave together â and now feels like the right time.â
The news blindsided not just viewers, but even members of the Strictly team. Judge Craig Revel Horwood admitted live on Loose Women that he found out âat the same time as everyone else,â while backstage sources say former pro dancer Oti Mabuse broke down in tears upon hearing the news.
đ âBring back the Brucey magicâ
Now, BBC insiders say producers are eyeing a âfresh yet familiarâ combination that captures the spirit of the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, the showâs original co-host.
âThey want to bring back that classic Brucey charm with Anton â and Holly is the perfect modern counterpart,â a source told Closer Magazine.
âSheâs warm, glamorous, effortlessly funny â and just feels right for Strictly.â
The insider added that pairing Holly and Anton would instantly give the show a âfamily-friendly, feel-goodâ vibe that viewers have been missing.
Holly, 44, would reportedly be âover the moonâ at the chance to front a prime-time BBC hit alongside Anton, 59 â especially after stepping away from This Morning last year.
đ€Â Tess and Claudiaâs emotional farewell
Despite the big news, Tess and Claudia returned to the Strictly stage just two days later, opening the show for Icons Week with their usual grace and humour.
âBefore we get started,â Tess began, âClaude and I announced this week that this will be our final series of Strictly Come Dancing.â
âWe just want to say thank you for your beautiful messages,â Claudia added, holding back tears. âWe still have eight wonderful weeks left â and a champion to crown.â
Tess has hosted the show since its 2004 debut, while Claudia joined in 2014, taking over from the legendary Bruce Forsyth.
đșÂ Whatâs next for Strictly?
The BBC has yet to confirm any replacement, saying only that an announcement for the 2026 series will be made in due course.
Still, with Hollyâs name now dominating fan discussions â and Anton already beloved as a judge â many believe the duo could be the dream team Strictly needs for its next chapter.
đŹÂ âIt would feel instantly right,â one insider said.
And judging by fan reactions online⊠they might just be right.
