‘Ready to be Queen’: Princess Catherine’s two major goals revealed as she quietly prepares for the throne
The Princess of Wales is said to be focusing on two crucial priorities as she prepares for her future role as Queen Consort.
After two years of recovery following her shock cancer diagnosis, Princess Catherine is reportedly focusing on two major goals as she looks ahead to 2026 and beyond.
The 44-year-old Princess of Wales, who joined the British royal family in 2011 after marrying Prince William, 43, has been quietly preparing for her future role as Queen Consort, according to a palace insider.
“Kate is fully focused on staying fit and healthy and readying herself to rule,” the insider told Radar Online. “She’s ready to be queen.”

Catherine endured a challenging health setback over the past two years after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in January 2024.
She spent much of the year undergoing preventative chemotherapy, which she previously described as “incredibly tough”.
During that period, the Princess stepped back from official royal duties to prioritise her recovery, while continuing to juggle family life with the couple’s three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, seven.

In January 2025, Catherine revealed she was in remission in a post shared via the Waleses’ official Instagram account.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” Catherine said.
“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
According to the palace source, the true toll of Catherine’s illness on her and her young family remained largely hidden from public view.
“The truth is, nobody knows how dark things got,” they said.
“Kate didn’t want to upset people by sharing the grim details of what she went through.”
Now back to her role as a full-time working royal, the Princess continues to support her husband and King Charles III while championing causes close to her heart, including cancer care and early childhood development.

The Prince and Princess of Wales remain hugely popular both in Britain and overseas.
In a recent poll, William was named the most popular royal, with Catherine close behind in second place.
The poll, released over the weekend, found that around three-quarters of respondents, between 74 and 77 per cent, hold a favourable view of the future king and queen.
Meanwhile, 64 per cent of Britons believe the UK should continue to have a monarchy, with 58 per cent saying it is good for Britain.

Royal biographer Hugo Vickers said Catherine is perfectly placed for her future role if she continues on her current path.
“If Catherine continues the way she’s going, she’ll be the perfect Queen Consort,” he told OK!.
“She’s a star and really key to the monarchy,” Vickers said.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl echoed that sentiment, saying there was no doubt Catherine was ready to become Queen Consort when the time comes.
“Of course, she and William want Charles to be on the throne for many more years to come but, if that moment comes sooner than hoped for, they are absolutely ready and more than equipped for the roles that lie ahead of them,” Nicholl said.
“She has proven herself to be a wonderful consort to William, both as the Duchess of Cambridge and now as the Princess of Wales, and that will continue when she becomes Queen Catherine.”
