Kate, Princess of Wales, shared an inspirational midsummer message highlighting the importance of cherishing loved ones and meaningful moments.
“As we bask in the sunlit hours, friends and families come together — playing, connecting, being present, embracing the joy to be found in even the most fleeting moments and shared experiences,” she says in a voiceover on the clip.
She continues, “Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship, so open your hearts, sing, dance, play. The days are still long, so simply love and be loved.”
The video, which Kate shared via social media on Wednesday, is part of an ongoing series she launched during the spring focused on the beauty and complexity of the human journey.
Since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, Kate has kept her public appearances limited and mostly communicates with the public through social media statements.
Kate is currently spending the summer on vacation with her family, while keeping her royal duties at a minimum, per the Independent.
Her most recent public appearances were at the Trooping the Colour celebration in June. In July, Kate spoke privately at Colchester Hospital with patients, volunteers and staff regarding her ongoing cancer recovery.
As a personal note alongside the clip, Kate wrote, “Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship.”
“It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer.”
How is Princess Kate doing
Kate announced in January that her cancer had gone into remission, the announcement came months after the Princess of Wales revealed she had completed her chemotherapy cancer treatments.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” Kate wrote in a statement shared on X at the time. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.”
“I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
Its been over a year since Kate underwent a “planned abdominal surgery,” which led to doctors detecting and diagnosing her cancer.
After the operation, Kate retreated from the public to recover for about two months. Her absence sparked public speculation and several high-profile conspiracy theories.
Since her diagnosis, Kate has maintained a minimal public profile and is gradually returning to royal duties.
Her July visit to Colchester Hospital, where she received her own cancer treatment, was part of her gradual return to making royal appearances.
While speaking with hospital staff and patients, Kate described her recovery process as a “roller coaster,” and emphasized the importance of community support.
She also detailed how life-altering a cancer diagnosis can be for patients and their loved ones.
“It’s life-changing for anyone, through first diagnosis or post-treatment and things like that, it is a life-changing experience both for the individual patient but also for the families as well,” she said, as previously reported by the Deseret News.
“And actually, it sometimes goes unrecognized, you don’t necessarily, particularly when it’s the first time, you don’t appreciate how much impact it is going to have. You have to find your new normal, and that takes time.”
