Outrage as Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin calls out certain individuals for having “under-formed br:ains” on The View: “What a shame for someone in office to speak like”

A top Democrat has declared Americans only voted for Trump because the US is going through its ‘angry teenage years’ – and that their brains hadn’t been ‘fully formed’ enough to vote for Kamala Harris.

Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin made the remarks on The View Tuesday, during talks surrounding her party’s response to the president’s agenda.

She insulted some 77,284,118 citizens in the process – days after delivering the Democratic response to Trump’s speech to Congress last week.

Slotkin, 48, did so just two months into her tenure in the US Senate, after beating Republican Mike Rogers in a heated race.

Flanked by hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, the progressive started off by saying people in her state voted for both Trump and her – before speaking on behalf of the entire county.

‘But I don’t think there’s anyone who feels like what’s going on right now is normal,’ she said, on a morning when the economy was still reeling from Trump’s tariffs.

‘Even if you voted for Trump – right?’ she went on, as the panelists nodded in approval.

She went on to offer her patronizing prognosis, eight weeks into Trump’s presidency.

‘I think there is a feeling in the country – and I often say this, you know – we’re about to turn 250 years old, right?’ the former rep for Michigan’s 7th congressional district began.

‘We’re still pretty young for a country. These are, like, our angry teenage years. We are going through this push and pull where we’re happy, we’re sad.

‘We want this, we want that,’ she went on.

‘What do you do when you have a teenager threatening themselves and others?

‘You just try to get them through this period alive so that their brain can fully form, and you can come back to kind of what-‘

At this point, Behar – an outspoken Trump critic – interjected to seek clarification.

‘Are you talking about Trump?’ the View’s most tenured host asked.

‘No, I’m talking about our country,’ Slotkin shot back. ‘We’re a pendulum swinging.’

The back-and-forth was met with some audible laughter from the studio audience, after which Slotkin – a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst – insisted:  ‘I don’t think there is an American that thinks this is normal.’

‘Do you think it’s a five-alarm fire?’ Hostin at this point asked.

The senator responded by painting the administration as ‘a threat to our democracy.’

‘I think what the president is doing to the economy — they know their own budget and how much they’re spending – so I think, whether it’s the economy or our national security… cutting people who keep us safe and then handing over places like Ukraine to a guy like Putin, that’s a threat to our democracy.

‘Threats to how we are as – who we are as a democracy,’ she continued, before being met with a round of uproarious applause.

‘I think that we are absolutely in extraordinary times, and it requires an extraordinary response,’ she concluded.

The program then went to commercial, after which Slotkin was welcomed back to offer more stern words about the president and what she claimed he is doing to the economy.

‘[Trump] is going to make you pay in every part of your life,’ she said.

Last week, Slotkin offered her party’s rebuttal to Trump’s first joint congressional address, which was marred by unsanctioned protests from some of her fellow Democrats – many of whom were later reprimanded behind the scenes.

‘Our democracy, no matter how messy, is unparalleled and worth fighting for. Let’s start with the economy,’ she said.

‘We need to bring down the price of things we spend the most money on. Groceries, housing, health care.

‘We need to make more things in America with good paying union jobs and bring our supply chains back home from places like China.

‘We need to give American businesses the certainty they need to invest and create the jobs of the future,’ she went on.

‘And we need a tax system that’s fair for people who don’t happen to make a billion dollars… So, do Trump’s plans actually help Americans get ahead?

‘Not even close,’ she claimed.

‘President Trump is trying to deliver an unprecedented giveaway to his billionaire friends, she said. ‘He’s on the hunt to find trillions of dollars to pass along to the wealthiest in America.

‘And to do that, he’s going to make you pay in every part of your life. Grocery and home prices are going up, not down. And he hasn’t laid out a credible plan to deal with either of those.

‘His tariffs on allies like Canada will raise prices on energy, lumber and cars and start a trade war that will hurt manufacturing and farmers.

‘Your premiums and prescriptions will cost more because the math on his proposals doesn’t work without going after your health care.

‘Meanwhile, for those keeping score, the national debt is going up, not down. And if he’s not careful, he could walk us right into a recession.’

On Monday, the stock market had its worst day since December – leading Trump to refuse to rule out a recession.

The admission served in a abrupt about-face from a man who campaigned on addressing – and reversing – economic dissatisfaction.
