The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has released the mugshot of a woman accused of making a false 911 call that police said led to the chain of events resulting in the death of Atlanta rapper Young Scooter.
Demetria Spence, 31, was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Tuesday. She is charged with transmitting a false public alarm. Atlanta Police said her call brought officers to a Lakewood Heights home on March 28, where Kenneth Bailey, known professionally as Young Scooter, later died from a leg injury.
Spence was set to appear in Fulton County courts on Wednesday but waived her appearance. The judge set her bond at $7,500 and stated Spence must stay away from the scene where the incident happened, weapons, and cannot have any contact with witnesses.

Young Scooter’s death | Woman wanted for her involvement in making false 911 call arrested, APD says
What police say happened to Young Scooter
Officers responded to William Nye Drive SE after a caller claimed there were armed men at the house and a naked woman being dragged inside. APD said when officers arrived, they could not confirm those reports.
The caller also mentioned hearing gunfire and suggested a child might be involved. The department released the full 911 call Monday, which quickly drew public attention and scrutiny.
Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Lt. Andrew Smith said that when officers approached the home, a man briefly opened the door before closing it. Officers then set a perimeter around the area.
Two men ran out the back of the home. One returned, but the other jumped multiple fences. That man, identified by the medical examiner as Bailey, was later found hurt and bleeding. He was taken to Grady Hospital, where he died.

Young Scooter died Friday night after injuring his leg while he was running from police, according to APD.
Rapper’s death ruled an accident
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Bailey’s fatal leg injury came from sharp wooden debris—likely from a fence he jumped. Officials ruled the death accidental. Police also said no officers fired their weapons during the encounter.

The medical examiner’s report emphasized that the wound that led to the rapper’s death was not from a gunshot.
Bailey, 39, was a longtime presence in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. He gained national recognition with his 2012 mixtape Street Lottery and worked with artists like Future, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and Migos.
Spence remains in the Fulton County Jail. Authorities have not announced any additional charges.
