King Charles is said to be heartbroken over the rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a GB News star. It comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to come back to the UK for a celebration of the Invictus Games in the one-year run-up to the main event in Birmingham next year. It will be the first time Harry, 41, will return to the UK with his family, as Meghan, 44, is said to be joining him along with Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.

Speaking about the couple, GB News panellist Alice said: “Look, they’re sort of coming back here to do this quasi-royal tour. Previously, they’ve said that they would never bring their children to this country unless the taxpayer would basically stump up for their security. They seem to be rolling back on that.”

She added: “I don’t see why we should, when he’s insulted our country, he’s called us racist, he’s abandoned his constitutional job.”

But she made the point to add that Harry still holds a lot of popularity with the British public. Alice continued: “I think there’s still in this country a lot of residual affection for Prince Harry.

“We remember him as the soldier who went to Afghanistan, the cheeky younger brother. I mean, who doesn’t want to see a family come back together that’s had a rift?”

She went on to make the point that Harry has protection in the US, why there didn’t seem to be a reason why he couldn’t have it in the UK.
