The New York Knicks will look to eliminate the Detroit Pistons from the NBA Playoffs when the two teams face off Tuesday night.
It’s been a hard-fought series from both sides. It could easily be the Pistons up 3-1 or have a tie series with just a couple of bounces in the other direction.
Some Pistons fans are upset that Josh Hart wasn’t whistled for a foul on Tim Hardaway Jr.’s game-winning attempt.
But those who watched the entire game would tell you it was being played physically all game, so calling a foul in that situation would’ve gone against the tone the referees had set.
Jalen Brunson has done what nobody has since Michael Jordan
Jalen Brunson has been a driving force for the Knicks’ success this postseason.
While he’s likely given Knicks fans anxiety after leaving two of the games with an injury, he returned both times to lead the Knicks on a comeback.
That’s exactly what happened in Game 4. Brunson was against the scorer’s table and seemed unable to get up before the game went to a commercial break.
But, just as he did in Game 1, he returned and quickly tied the game.
He finished with 32 points, 11 assists and five rebounds in the 94-93 win.
Brunson joined elite company with the performance, becoming the first player since Michael Jordan to start the playoffs with four consecutive 30-point games.
While it’s a small sample size of four games, anytime a player can join someone like Michael Jordan to have done anything, it’s a strong compliment and speaks to his game.
Knicks fans will hope Brunson brings a similar performance Tuesday. They’d have ample opportunity to rest before their next series. The fans at Madison Square Guarden would also love to see the Knicks clinch a series in front of them.
