Season 19 ofĀ Americaās Got TalentĀ has come to a thrilling endĀ as Richard Goodall takes the crown.
Goodall was crowned the Season 19 champion after captivating the Judges and America with his powerhouse vocals and charming life story. The shy 55-year-old elementary school janitor from Indiana first stole our hearts with his mind-blowingĀ Audition of āDonāt Stop BelievingāĀ by Journey. While someĀ AGTĀ Acts hop onstage with decades of performances and training behind them, Goodallās lack of a glimmering portfolio defied expectations after he set the stage on fire with a show stopping set.Ā Heidi KlumĀ was so dazzled by his performance that Goodall scored aĀ coveted Golden Buzzer, catapulting him farther in the talent competition.
āRichard, Richard, Richard, you knocked me off my feet,ā Klum told Goodall following hisĀ AGTĀ Audition. āI mean, we all had the best time with you up on that stage. I really feel something with you up there, and I hear you up there⦠and now, this is what Iām going to do for you because I love you.ā
Goodall kept the classic rock hits coming during theĀ QuarterfinalsĀ andĀ Semi-FinalsĀ and continued to charm audiences all the way up to the Live Final, where America voted for him as the seasonās champion.

After soaring through the competition with his jaw-dropping renditions of rock hits, theĀ AGTĀ Judges were elated to celebrate Goodall as the champion during the Season 19 Finale.
āI just felt it in my stomach that he was special,ā Klum toldĀ NBC InsiderĀ following his emotional victory. āYou know, I also loved that he is not a professional. You know, thereās a lot of people that come toĀ Americaās Got TalentĀ that have had experience. They have had stage experience before, and he has not. So I love that.ā
Klum continued, āHe is not an entertainer. And he just tried out, nailed it, and deserved this spot. So, you know, thatās why I pushed [the Golden Buzzer] for him because I was like, āHeās deserving,ā I donāt want any of the other Judges to X him for the next round.āā
āSo when you have that Golden Buzzer, you make sure that that person gets put in front of all of America,ā Klum concluded. āSo I was like, āAmerica needs to see this guy.ā He needs to be there.ā
