The legacy of Rich Homie Quan will remain alive and strong in Atlanta where he left an indelible mark on the scene. He influenced a generation of melodic rappers with his emotionally charged lyrics and dynamic flow. His 2013 hit “Type of Way” became an anthem and helped re-elevate Atlanta’s rap scene to the mainstream, ensuring his place in hip-hop history.
Rich Homie Quan’s death came as a shock to rap fans when he passed away on September 5 at the age of 34.
An artist who made his mark as one of hip-hop’s most respected contributors to the melodic rap movement in the 2010s, the Atlanta rapper’s death prompted many to go back and listen to his biggest hit records, including “Type of Way,” and “Flex (Ooh Ooh Ooh),” and “Lifestyle” as part of Rich Gang with Young Thug and Birdman.
