Alissa Fay and David Momoh were one of the first pairings to say “I do” on Married At First Sight, and they have since become fan favourites.
Despite one very awkward moment at the wedding, they have gone from strength to strength as a couple.
They have weathered the storms of drama in the experiment and have formed genuine feelings for one another.
However, they have now hit a very unexpected hurdle as Alissa has begun to let her doubts overwhelm their on-screen marriage.
So, can they ultimately make it work?
Read on to see if they are still together below.

The final Commitment Ceremony
It was their last chance to speak to the experts on Sunday, March 29, as they had their last ever Commitment Ceremony on the Channel Nine show.
They opened up to the experts about their difficulties after Homestays saw them reach breaking point, with Alissa’s doubts leaving David questioning things.
David admitted he felt like he was carrying “most of the emotional weight” of their relationship, admitting it was taking its toll.
However, Alissa insisted he doesn’t want to have conversations about their difficulties, saying she wanted him to open up more.
“I feel like he doesn’t want to have conflict, but I feel like there’s healthy conflict resolution,” she argued.
However, David hit back with, “I want a partner who can have a constructive conversation with me about an issue.”
When asked what specifically she had done to upset him in conflict, David said she viewed her opinion as “Bible” and once called him a financially “weak man”.
The experts argued that kind of conversation wasn’t acceptable, but the couple failed to see eye-to-eye on their difficulties.
“I can’t read your mind,” Alissa said as she urged David to speak more about his feelings rather than brushing things aside.
Though they both wrote stay, things remained frosty between the pair, and it remains unclear if they will overcome their issues.

Dinner Party ultimatum
A break-up appeared to be looming for Alissa and David at the Dinner Party on Wednesday, March 25.
After a turbulent Homestays Week, Alissa told the group about why she had felt plagued with doubts over their relationship.
She said she wasn’t willing to move away from her life in Adelaide, and despite David’s willingness to move, she remained uncertain.
“That’s where I started spiralling on Homestays, and I was like ‘s***, this isn’t going to work’,” she shared.
Alissa went on to say she hadn’t felt like herself during their relationship, and even went as far as to consider David’s snoring as an issue because she was sleep-deprived.
“I know that I can be a bit full-on, and he does ground me, but I’m finding it maybe a bit too much where I feel like I’m not myself,” she said.
In response, David shared his upset over Alissa continuing to doubt their connection despite his commitment.
“What other green checks do you need ticked off?” he asked.
He admitted Alissa was “pushing” him away and even spoke about the possibility of them splitting up.
“Alissa is trying to look for any little thing she can pull from the sky to question things and the relationship, and that’s pushing me away,” he explained.
“If this ultimately isn’t going to work, I’m not going to force anything.”
Alissa confessed, “We’ve got cracks,” as the group appeared surprised by the sudden struggles for the couple.

Alissa’s doubts at Homestays
Alissa was left overwhelmed by doubts during Homestays Week as her and David’s relationship took an unexpectedly negative turn.
Though they have been one of the strongest couples, they came into conflict over where they would live after the experiment.
Alissa had originally planned to move to Sydney to be with David for a few years, but realised she couldn’t do so after returning home to Adelaide with him.
“It’s just a lot, I just forgot how much I had here, I can’t just pack up and go,” she confessed.
Her mother wasn’t happy with the idea of her moving, and told Alissa to focus on remaining in Adelaide and starting a family, sowing doubts in her mind.
After hearing Alissa’s doubts, David also confessed he had a “lot to consider”.

The next day, they met two of Alissa’s friends, and David then revealed he would move to Adelaide to be with Alissa instead, but it wasn’t enough for the bride.
Despite David’s compromises, Alissa admitted she remained “scared” and said she wanted to make sure David was the right person before making big decisions.
“I know you’ve agreed to move here, which is great, but I’m getting overwhelmed with it,” she admitted.
David was left feeling like he was making all the compromises, with Alissa’s friends also pointing out that she wasn’t considering him.
“I’ve laid all my cards out, but I can only meet her as far as she’s going to meet me,” David said.
“I have sacrificed a lot already just by telling Alissa I’m ready to come to Adelaide.”
Alissa’s friends questioned whether she was “self-sabotaging” while David said that they weren’t right together if she still doubted his intentions.

The fourth Commitment Ceremony
When they got to the couch, the couple revealed that they were in a good place.
Alissa praised her husband as her “calm” and “home”, but said there were some things he couldn’t provide for her.
“I function at a higher frequency, and sometimes I feel like I’m missing that stimulation, that high frequency that I would normally get from my relationships to make me happy,” she explained.
Unsurprised by this, David suggested that this could be due to Alissa’s familiarity with chaos and arguing in her past relationships, where he was calmer.
Admitting that there were lots of arguments in her previous relationships, Mel suggested that the peace she felt was unfamiliar to her.
Promising to work on it, they both wrote stay.

The first Commitment Ceremony
The couple had a positive time on the couch, reflecting on their relationship progress.
Despite Alissa insisting that David propose at their wedding, he said it made her realise that she was honest and direct.
Alissa agreed with David’s sentiments that the experts “nailed everything”, mentioning their similar values and upbringings.
For the pair, they have also been incredibly “curious” about one another, and have spent time learning more about each other.
They then both revealed they wanted to stay.

Revelations Week
While Revelations Week was challenging for some couples, it brought David and Alissa closer.
When they spent time apart to share their red and green flags with their fellow brides and grooms, they mostly had positive things to say about one another.
They praised each other for their family values, communication skills, and honesty.
However, Alissa did say David did once call her a “drama queen” when she was having an off day.

What happened at David and Alissa’s wedding?
However, it was a very rocky start for the couple, after it appeared that Alissa wasn’t going to go through with the wedding.
Standing at the altar after meeting her groom for the first time, Alissa declared that she didn’t think she could marry him.
“Yup,” a disappointed David declared, adding, “I completely understand.”
However, Alissa then added, “… not until you get on one knee and propose to me first,” shocking her groom and the crowds.
“I need to be escorted out after that, she got me good,” a stunned David said.
But, in another awkward turn, David thought she was joking and asked if it was a “stunt”, at first refusing to get down on one knee, until Alissa said she wouldn’t go through with the wedding unless he did.

Finally, he proposed to her, with their loved ones erupting into cheers, making for a very awkward start to their married life.
At the reception, David’s friends also shared their concern that she wasn’t the right match for him, asking, “Is she what you need?”
When they queried whether she was “a lot of work”, David confessed, “She did say she was difficult… I thought when she said ‘get down on the knee’, I thought it was a prank to test if I was a walkover.”
“My eyes are wide open. If she brings chaos into the relationship, that’s where we are going to have issues,” David added.
However, he insisted he wasn’t going to make a rushed decision and wanted to give her a chance, and they then bonded over their Christian backgrounds, in a positive sign for their budding romance.
David then conceded that the experts matched them well and said he could be the “calm to her hurricane” as things started to look up between the newlyweds.
So, after their rocky start, will the pair go the distance, and are they still together now?

Are MAFS stars Alissa and David still together?
New Idea understands that Alissa and David are no longer together, with the downfall of their relationship set to play out on screen soon.
It has also been claimed that Alissa has moved on with someone new, and has started dating a Ninja Warrior star.
Our sister publication Woman’s Day reported that Alissa has been spotted with Nathan Ryles multiple times, looking very close.
“She’s besotted with him,” a source told the publication.
“She’s even calling him her soulmate. It’s the worst-kept secret in Adelaide.”
