King Charles may be a monarch, but he is also a loving family man. Although on the royal stage many people simply see him carrying out his duties, there are occasional moments when the true gentleman that he is shines through, especially around his wife Queen Camilla.
One of these moments happened just this week, when the King – who turns 77 today – was caught on camera waiting for his wife patiently during an event at Windsor Castle this week. The event saw Their Majesties host VJ war veterans and their families at a reception to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

In the video, The King can be seen stopping at a doorway and checking that his wife was on her way before moving into the next room and meeting the next set of guests.
The sweet moment was shared on X, with many praising the monarch’s sweet gesture.
One person wrote: “Just like an every day married couple, cute.”
Another fan said: “He always makes sure she is there before leaving.”
Someone else noted: “A sweet moment yesterday during a reception at Windsor Castle as King Charles was waiting on Queen Camilla.”Their Majesties were joined by a handful of other royals at the reception on Tuesday, including Prince William, Prince Edward and The Duchess of Gloucester.

Politicians were also present including Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The event came two days after King Charles led the nation in Remembrance at The Cenotaph on Sunday, joined by other senior royals.
