Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen appeared on This Morning to share updates on the renovation of Anty John’s farmhouse

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has issued a disappointing renovation update. The Yorkshire Shepherdess continues to live and work at Ravenseat Farm with her ex-husband Clive and their nine children.
The family first captured hearts when Our Yorkshire Farm debuted on Channel 5 in 2018, quickly becoming one of the channel’s most popular shows. Fast forward to 2024, and Channel 4 commissioned a ten-part series titled Our Farm Next Door, following the family as they breathed new life into a 200-year-old farmhouse nestled in the Yorkshire Dales.
The second series aired last year, with another instalment set to premiere on More 4 tonight (Monday, January 19) at 9pm. Ahead of the new series airing, Amanda appeared on today’s episode of This Morning with two of her daughters, Clemmy and Nancy.
While speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about their latest adventures, Amanda issued a disappointing update on Anty John’s. Ben began: “The other thing that’s a big character in the new series, of course, is the new house, which is called Anty John’s. Can you tell us a bit about the history of the house, Amanda, because it’s an extraordinary [building]. Where it is is just extraordinary,” reports the Express.

A photograph of the property was then displayed on screen, with Amanda elaborating: “Yeah, it was a derelict house. We bought it during the COVID lockdown, and it’s a renovation project. Again, everything that goes against it is it’s in a National Park, it’s a listed building, so there are certain parameters within which you can work.”
Acknowledging the lengthy timeline ahead, the star continued: “So, it is a very slow job. The whole idea is to put the house back to how it would have been, keeping the integrity and the heritage of it alive, but also making it something that is liveable and workable. Nothing too contrived or anything like that. But it is a slow project, a very slow project. [The kids] are all involved in it. Talk about keeping busy.”
Clemmy then disclosed they were currently designing a cupboard bed within the property, which Nancy immediately wanted for herself, saying: “I want the most strangest bed.”
Amanda continued: “They’ve all been involved to a certain degree, but this week, we’re putting the water supply in,” as Nancy interrupted with: “I mean, who wouldn’t want to sleep in a cupboard?”

Amanda then shared the fascinating details of installing their water system, explaining: “It involves a lot of shovelling. It involves literally coming from a spring. We were in a hotel last night in London, and there was a little shout from a certain somebody who was getting into the bath. [She] shouted to me, ‘Mum! The water, it’s see-through!’ It’s spring water, it’s Yorkshire’s finest. It gives you the tan.”
Turning to her daughters, she continued: “You’ve been painting walls, you’ve been tidying up, and goodness knows what.” The star also disclosed that some of their horses might be welcomed into the new property, provided there’s sufficient space.
This update follows Amanda’s recent health announcement concerning a cherished family member, just months after experiencing a devastating loss. On Sunday (January 18), she opened up about their pet dog, Sprout, who has been struggling emotionally following the heartbreaking death of her companion, Chalky.
