Sergio Pérez está desesperado por encontrar su forma mientras la Fórmula 1 se dirige al Gran Premio de Azerbaiyán.
El mexicano se encuentra séptimo en el campeonato de cara a Bakú, sin haber terminado en el podio desde China, y de hecho no ha estado entre los cinco primeros desde Miami.
El piloto de 34 años es un piloto bajo presión para mantener su asiento en Red Bull, con informes que sugieren que Pérez podría ser reemplazado antes de que termine la temporada . A pesar de tener un contrato con el equipo hasta 2026, Red Bull tiene una lista de tres pilotos para que conduzcan junto a Max Verstappen la próxima temporada.
Lo que no ayudará a Pérez es la repentina falta de rendimiento del RB20. El equipo no estuvo ni cerca de McLaren, Ferrari y Mercedes en el Gran Premio de Italia, ya que tuvieron problemas para mantener el ritmo en el sexto y octavo lugar.
Verstappen lidera el campeonato sobre Lando Norris por 62 puntos, mientras que McLaren está a poca distancia de Red Bull en la clasificación de constructores, ya que se encuentran a solo ocho puntos de distancia de cara a Bakú.

Desde que Bakú se unió al calendario en 2017, Red Bull ha ganado cuatro de las seis carreras celebradas, incluidas las últimas tres de forma consecutiva.
