“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.” — NSW’s Top Cop Erupts Over ‘Cowardly’ Kidnapping of 85-Year-Old Chris Baghsarian

NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has unleashed on the captors of an 85-year-old man who was kidnapped from his Sydney home in a suspected case of mistaken identity.

Chris Baghsarian was snatched from his North Ryde home by a gang of kidnappers just before 5am on Friday.

Police and loved ones hold grave fears for his safety and believe his kidnappers took the wrong person, as neither Mr Baghsarian nor his family have criminal ties.

Investigators have issued several public appeals for his safe return to his family.

Asked about the case at a press conference on Tuesday, Mr Lanyon said he had a “very clear” message for those responsible.

“This incident is disgraceful,” he said.

“It is clearly a case of mistaken identity and it shows the disregard that those involved in organised crime have for individuals.

“The fact Mr Baghsarian has been taken and not returned at this stage, despite the fact we have been very clear that you have the wrong person – can I ask that you show some respect, show some dignity, and ensure Mr Baghsarian is returned to his family.”

Reports of disturbing images and video of the 85-year-old have surfaced in the past 24 hours.
