Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson had a confession about their homelife after swapping London for the countryside. The legendary Queen guitarist and Doctor Who actress were forced to leave their £7m London home after it was devastated by flooding.
They have since moved into a £25m home in the Surrey countryside. The property is set in a 200 acre estate in the heart of Windlesham. Anita, 76, has previously admitted that her 78-year-old husband has “never been happier” since moving to the countryside. Originally built in the 1920s, their property stands on the site of a 16th century farmhouse which was demolished to make way for a Regency replacement that they now reside in.

The couple’s former home was flooded with sewage in 2021. The incident is said to have left them devastated as it destroyed Brian’s beloved memorabilia.
Anita described her husband as a “big collector” who has a passion for Star Wars items. She however says his passion for collectibles has “eased off” as he has gotten older.
However Anita admits that their home still regularly becomes “jammed with stuff” even if they find themselves having a clear out. It means the pair are in no rush to downsize their property.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, she said: “We are two of the world’s greatest collectors of clutter in the universe
“We have big rooms and even after they’re cleaned, after a week or two, they are jammed with stuff. People buy us stuff, which is lovely, and we don’t give them away, so we just keep them all. So we can’t downsize – not yet, anyway”

Anita has previously revealed Brian “fell in love” with their new surroundings before he even saw the property. She says he was particularly fond of “the trees, the flowers, the grass, the lake”.
“How could I take him away from that?” she questioned when speaking to The Sunday Telegraph. Swapping London for the countryside came with a heartbreaking realisation though.
Anita, 76, added: “I remember thinking, ‘I’m buying my own retirement home,’ because it’s quiet. I do miss London. I miss the lights, the noise, even the dirt – I was born in that dirt. But I know what I’m facing ahead of me.”
The TV star has also revealed that Brian often finds himself buying one item for his grandchildren to play with and another for his collection. She said: “He’s a big collector. He buys a packaged one and one that he can have for the grandkids.

“He’s bought quite a lot. It’s eased off a bit, as he’s gone through life. His favourite is the little green guy, he loves Yoda.”
Anita revealed Brian also enjoys collecting dinosaurs and figures of prehistoric creatures “like most kids do”. She says she has tried to clear out some of their possessions but struggles with her own hoarding tendencies.
She told Music News: “I always think I’ve got to have a clear out, and a lot of my clothes go to the local hospice. But there’s so much stuff.”
