Anne Burrell left a “suicidal note” dated the morning of her death, a new police report revealed.

The New York Police Department confirmed to People that the note was left in the primary bedroom of Burrell’s Brooklyn, NY, home and was found by an investigator following her death on June 17, 2025.

The investigator also discovered several more “suicidal” journal entries on a bed in the same room, per the police report.

he Food Network chef was found unconscious around 7:50 a.m. at her home, an NYPD spokesperson told Page Six at the time.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and pronounced her dead. She was 55.

Two days after Burrell’s death, sources confirmed to The Post that her husband, Stuart Claxton, discovered her body on the shower floor.

On June 20, 2025, the NYPD told Page Six that the “Worst Cooks in America” star’s death was being investigated as a possible drug overdose.

A month later, it was revealed that Burrell had died by suicide.

Her death was specified as “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine,” according to the New York City medical examiner’s office.

Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are antihistamines, while ethanol is a compound found in alcohol. Amphetamine is commonly used to treat ADHD.

In her final photo posted via Instagram five days before her death, Burrell appeared happy and healthy.

Burrell’s fellow Food Network star Melba Wilson also claimed she was “healthy and vibrant” before her “shock” death, telling TMZ that she “was fine.”

“To wake up yesterday, or to hear yesterday, that she’s no longer with us, is devastating. It’s shocking. It’s unbelievable to know that someone so full of life is no longer with us,” Wilson added.

“That’s why this is such a big shock to us. She was healthy. She was vibrant. She was beautiful,” Wilson said.

But a friend of Burrell’s painted a different picture to Page Six, telling us that she knew the star “struggled.”

“I know she kind of struggled — once she was on TV and was on her way to be a TV celebrity chef,” the friend said days after her passing.

“She was famous, she was doing the food and wine circuit stuff. She was busy — I kind of felt like she wasn’t totally happy,” the friend added. “People with big personalities sometimes mask things.”

Despite her larger-than-life personality that fans saw on TV, Burrell’s pal said she suffered from loneliness and fears of addiction since “she grew up in a situation with alcoholism.”

“She had, like the rest of us, demons … She didn’t let me in too much. [As a TV star],You have so many high moments. In private, you’re going to have a let down.”
