Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may have recently faced some of the worst few months of his life, but this has not stopped him from enjoying a holiday break in the sun. While Andrew, 65, is hardly seen in public in the UK these days, it turns out he was spotted on a recent getaway in France.

This getaway saw the former Duke of York enjoy a weekend break in rural Brittany with sportswear billionaire Mohammed A Baker. It is believed the former prince spent a few days at a rural farm close to St Malo in North-west France with the billionaire after flying on the billionaire’s private jet. The trip is believed to have taken place from May 30 to June 1.

The Daily Mail claims that Andrew’s free trip saw him ride horses on a French beach, play boules and enjoy meals by a private chef.

The publication also claims that the holiday ended just days before Andrew was spotted with a big bruise-like mark on his face back in the UK.

French racehorse trainer Arthur Desprez, who runs his own equestrian business close to where Andrew stayed with the billionaire, told the Daily Mail: “Andrew was the guest of Mohammed Baker. He stayed at his house.”

A local farm worker then told the Daily Mail that Andrew was spotted with one bodyguard during his stay.

The farm worker also claimed that Andrew stayed in the main “big house” with the billionaire, who reportedly funded the trip for the former prince.

It is believed it is the first time Andrew has enjoyed a break away since he was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Andrew, who has not been charged and was released under investigation, has always denied wrongdoing and accusations against him.
