Outer Banks fans suspect that stunt doubles were used to film a bizarre scene amid rumors of a cast feud.

The hit Netflix show just finished its fourth season, and the speculation began with a scene involving co-stars Rudy Pankow, 26, and Madison Bailey, 25.

Rudy — whose character JJ was tragically killed off in the finale — and Madison, who plays Kiara, were featured in a cuddling scene, but the camera angles made it so neither one appeared on screen at the same time.

There have been rumors that when fans began shipping Kiara and JJ, and eventually, the actors themselves, it caused discomfort for their real-life partners and a strained relationship between the co-stars.

‘This is just insane, the fact that Rudy and Madison refused to record it together and they had to use stunt double just shows their unprofessionalism to their work. And they weren’t even supposed to be doing anything huge in that scene, just hugging a bit,’ one fan wrote on Twitter.

The comments continued to pour in, with many accusing the stars of acting unprofessional.

‘Rudy and madison are not professionals, not just for bringing their girlfriends to the set, do they need doubles for their romantic scenes, for god’s sake, madelyn and chase were dating and they keep kissing like it was nothing, get over it.’

‘I was so excited for the cuddle scene by the campfire only to find out rudison had stunt doubles for it im baffled this is genuinely insane ive never in my life heard a show with actors that behaved this way how can you be this unprofessional to ruin your own fan loved characters.’

The show follows the lives of John B. (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Bailey), JJ (Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) as they hunt for treasure.

The fourth season finale finished off with Pankow’s character dying in Kiara’s arms in a heartbreaking scene.

JJ was fatally stabbed by his own father Chandler Groff (played by J. Anthony Crane) in Morocco after he had pulled out a knife on Kiara and tried to rob them of their treasure.

While some fans are convinced the death won’t stick, others believe that if it does, he might have been written off due to the rumored feud.

The online rumblings began in June of last year, when he cast had a dinner that included Bailey, Pankow, and Pankow’s girlfriend, Elaine Siemek.

Following the dinner, Bailey and her girlfriend Mariah Linney, who was not present, both unfollowed Pankow’s girlfriend, according to Style Caster.

Siemek also unfollowed them both.

Pankow unfollowed Linney, but continued to follow Bailey, and she continued to follow him as well.

Neither of them has said anything in public about the rumored rift between them.

Outer Banks is set to return for a fifth and final season, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
