Sirianni gave Philadelphia its second win in an NFL title game

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni ‘s contract with the team ends at the end of the 2025 NFL season , but with his 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, he could make a fortune.

By leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs, Sirianni’s asking price would be expected to rise, and he could argue that he’s worth as much as any rookie head coach whose salary dwarfs his.

The coach earns $7 million per season and is one of the lowest-paid coaches in the NFL . He signed a five-year, $35 million contract in January 2021 that expires after the 2025 season.

Sirianni, 43, is 48-20 in the regular season during his four years with the Eagles and has led Philadelphia to the Super Bowl in two of the past three years .

Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie told reporters this week that Siriani “has done a phenomenal job” and called him “an incredible leader.”

“His future is going to be fantastic. We’ve never talked publicly about contracts or anything for 30 years, so I’m not going to start now. But he’s great.”

The Eagles don’t want to make the same mistake as the Cowboys

Teams generally don’t like their head coaches entering the final year of a contract and rarely allow it.

The Dallas Cowboys were the latest team to try last season, allowing Mike McCarthy to enter the final year of a deal that became a talking point in Dallas’ disappointing season.

Last April, after Kansas City defeated San Francisco in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs announced a contract extension for Andy Reid that would run through the 2029 season and make him the highest-paid head coach in the NFL .

Following their second consecutive Super Bowl victory, the Chiefs also extended team president Mark Donovan and general manager Brett Veach through the 2029 season.
