THE mom of Genesis Nova Reid, two, has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after the tot was reported missing three weeks ago.

Adrienne Reid, 33, was accused of the heinous crimes on what would have been the girl’s third birthday – as the desperate hunt for her body continues in Alabama.

Investigators are adamant that the mom “willfully murdered Genesis, placed her in a duffle bag and discarded her in a dumpster.”
A massive – and complex – search operation is underway at the Coffee County Landfill, in Elba, Alabama.
Investigators have been able to narrow down a search area of approximately 200 feet by 100 feet, 8 to 10 feet deep in refuse.
And, in a sickening revelation, it is feared that the toddler’s body might have been “compacted” multiple times.
It is believed that Genesis Nova Reid’s body was dumped by her mom months ago, said cops.
They reached that conclusion after detectives obtained CCTV footage showing Reid walking towards their apartment complex dumpster with a rolling duffle bag on the night of December 25.
Two days later, additional footage captured Reid returning to the dumpster area carrying toys and other items believed to belong to Genesis.
“The evidence shows that Adrienne Reid killed her daughter, literally threw her in the trash,” alleged Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox last night.
He also accused the mom of “engaging in a 53-day campaign of deceit, lies, manipulation, and destruction of evidence, before she finally reported her missing on February 16.”
If found guilty, he is seeking the death penalty for Reid.
“I believe this preliminary decision to seek the death penalty conforms to our community’s beliefs about this case and our shared values about how we value and seek to protect the most innocent among us, our children,” Tarbox said.

He joined other officials to give a tragic update on the baffling case, which has rocked the city of Enterprise.
“Today is an especially heartbreaking day for our community,” Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore admitted last night.
“The loss of a child, the most precious and innocent members of our society, is something that cannot be ignored and will never be forgotten.”
In another heartbreaking twist, cops have established that the toddler had not been seen since Christmas Day, Moore added.
Yet her mom didn’t report her missing for nearly two months.
The investigation began on February 16, when Adrienne Reid reported that her daughter was not in their apartment on Apache Drive.
However, detectives later determined that her report was allegedly a fib, and Reid was arrested the following day for false reporting.
Leads have taken investigators across multiple states, including Illinois, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and throughout Alabama, Chief Moore said.

“At any given time, more than 75 law enforcement officers from various agencies were directly involved in this case,” he added.
He thanked hard-working personnel who have committed “16 to 18 hours per day” to find the tote. Investigators have already executed 37 search warrants.
Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd told reporters that the search has been extremely difficult, especially given the length of time that Genesis has been missing.
Experts have had to map out the landfill to try and work out where the girl’s remains might be located.
They are doing this by examining trash truck schedules and GPS monitors on the landfill’s equipment.
“I need the public to understand that this will not be an easy or fast search,” Byrd said.

He warned that the hunt for her remains had to be undertaken methodically, and could continue for at least another ten weeks.
“The subject dumpster where the bag we are looking for was picked up on December 26,” Byrd explained.
“It was compacted in the truck that picked up it. It was taken to a distribution facility and compacted again.
“It was taken on another truck to the landfill where it was processed further with bulldozers and a compacting machine.”
Reid will make an initial appearance before District Judge Josh Wilson on the new felony charges later this week.
