Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne – who sadly passed away recently aged 76 – was dad to six kids. Some viewers of The Osbournes also came to regard Robert Marcato as the ‘adopted son’ in the MTV reality series.

The Prince of Darkness’ beloved offspring include the three children he shared with widow Sharon Osbourne – Aimee Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne and Jack Osbourne.

Ozzy also shared three kids with his first wife Thelma Riley, who Ozzy was married to from 1971 until their divorce in 1982. Elliot Kingsley, Thelma’s eldest, was understood to have been adopted by Ozzy when the child was around five. Thelma and Ozzy also had son Louis Osbourne, and daughter Jessica Osbourne.

Who was Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘adopted son’ Robert Marcato?

Fans of The Osbournes on MTV may recall Robert as Kelly’s pal who turned up in scenes of the reality series. He tended to be in the background and was rarely heard speaking.

According to online sources, he started staying over with the Osbournes when his mother Regan – who was friendly with Sharon Osbourne, but sadly later died – was diagnosed with cancer. Sharon and Ozzy also paid for her treatment.

While not legally adopted, Robert became a part of the Osbourne family after his mother’s death. He moved in with them and was treated like a son. On the show, he was referred to as ‘Baby Osbourne’.

Robert joined The Osbournes during the second series of the show. Sharon said at the time: “Robert will be part of the show as ‘Baby Osbourne’ – even though he’s 18. We’re moving him in as part of the family. Then we’re going to take our time to pick the best college for him.”

What happened to Robert Marcato from The Osbournes?

According to an article aggregated in Yahoo Australia’s Lifestyle section from February 2016, Robert at one point reportedly wanted to catch up with the Osbournes again.

New Idea was told Robert was living in a garage at the time and worked in the stock room of a supermarket.

“Kelly and I had a brother-sister relationship. We were like best friends and we would always hang out together. I miss her and it’s sad that our relationship ended,” he was reported to have said at the time.

He is said to have added: “I will always be grateful they paid for me to go to school and I don’t bear a grudge. But I do miss them and it’s sad we’re no longer in touch.”

Additionally, Robert is quoted as telling the mag he fell into a depression after studying film. Despite seeking treatment, which the Osbournes “encouraged” him to do, Robert reportedly said he soon discharged himself.

RIP Ozzy

Ozzy was laid to rest at his home in Buckinghamshire last week. The private ceremony followed a funeral procession in Birmingham the day before. Hundreds of fans turned out in the city centre to pay tribute to the much-loved heavy metal pioneer.

At Ozzy’s farewell gig just a couple of weeks before his passing, Kelly got engaged to fiancé Sid Wilson backstage.

Ozzy had joked moments before Sid got down on one knee: “[Blank] off, you’re not marrying my daughter, are you?”
