Release of ‘Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1’ Mixtape
Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1, the iconic mixtape by Birdman, Thug, and Quan under their collective name Rich Gang, dropped on Sept. 29, 2014. It featured Nipsey Hussle, PeeWee Longway, Jacquees, and Yung Ralph guest appearances. Supported by standout tracks such as “Tell Em (Lies),” “Imma Ride,” “Freestyle,” “Soldier,” “Milk Marie,” “Flava,” and “Givenchy,” the project instantly became a blueprint for Atlanta trap music. Comparisoning to OutKast
In a 2014 interview with HoustonHipHopFix, Quan reflected on their shared chemistry, drawing parallels between their collaboration and the legendary OutKast. “We the hardest duo since OutKast,” he said. “I say that ‘cause they from Atlanta, and we’re from Atlanta. Nothing will ever be better than OutKast, but hardest collabo since OutKast.”
