Kristen Bell has revealed that husband Dax Shepard had an unusual reaction to her on-screen chemistry with Nobody Wants This costar Adam Brody.

The Veronica Mars alum stars opposite Adam, both 44, in the new Netflix romantic comedy series, and the duo has been heavily praised by viewers for delivering the best first kiss scene in years.

Since its release onto the streamer, fans have not stopped talking about their ‘electric’ chemistry – and even Kristen’s husband of 11 years has been blown away by their rapport.

Shedding light on her and Dax’s reaction to the steamy scenes at hand, Kristen said: ‘Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, “Whoa, that’s hot.”‘

Speaking to E! News, she added: ‘My husband said the same thing.

‘Like, watching the first episode he was like, “Oh my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.”‘

Kristen and Dax tied the knot in 2013 and share two children together – Lincoln, 11, and Delta, nine.

Nobody Wants This follows newly-single rabbi Noah, played by Adam, who finds himself in an inexplicable relationship with an agnostic sex and dating podcaster Joanne.

The 10-part series comes from writer Erin Foster, daughter of David Foster and step-daughter of Katharine McPhee.

In the second episode, Kristen and Adam’s characters kiss for the first time and the swoon-worthy moment left viewers flustered.

Unpacking the passionate scene, Kristen, who served as an executive producer on the show, said there was a ‘math’ to the kiss.

‘You have two actors that know how to stare dopily into each other’s eyes, and you have to have the confidence to expand that and really sit the anticipatory value before the kiss — which I think is really important,’ she continued to the publication.

‘Whether or not people want to see you end up with someone is a crap shoot, and we just kind of got lightning in a bottle.’

Adam also opened up about his steamy kiss with Kristen during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night, revealing that it wasn’t awkward despite them being long-time friends.

He said: ‘I think because we know each other it’s less strange, as strange as that might sound, I don’t know.

‘I think there’s some trust there, there’s some familiarity.’

Jimmy then jokingly wondered if Adam and wife Leighton Meester are hanging out with Kristen and Dax more or less since the kiss.

‘That is a good question,’ Adam replied.

‘That the litmus test. Not really. You know, they live on the east side, I live on the west, that’s fine.’

He added: ‘But Dax is always like bemoaning, “I wish you lived on the east side, we could hang out more.”‘

Show creator Erin previously revealed that Adam hadn’t been onboard with part of the scene which saw Noah command Joanne to put down her bag and ice cream before the kiss.

Dishing all to TVLine, she said: ‘Adam really didn’t want to tell her to put her ice cream down, and it was really important to me, and I, like, basically made him do it.

‘Because he thought that it was like, “Why am I, like, bossing her around and being a d**k and telling her what to do?”

‘And I was like, “No, no, no. It is so sexy, because you’re this sweet guy, and you’re emotionally available, and you’re kind, and you need to be able to say to her, “OK, you want me to kiss you? Put your s**t down. I’m about to give you the best f***ing kiss of your life.”

‘And then, once we did it, I think he really understood why it was so important to me, and it really worked.’
