“I miss you dad, what should I do?”, Rich Homie Quan’s kids share memories of him during his celebration of life ceremony

Rich Homie Quan’s kids gathered to honor and remember their father during his Celebration of Life ceremony on September 17th in Atlanta, Georgia.

In a moving video tribute, Layor, 3, Alayna, 7, Khosen, 8, Royal, 10, and Devin, 16, shared their cherished memories of the late rapper.

Devin, the eldest, recalled moments of playful competition with his father.

“When he get that one win like he walk around the house just bragging about it for like a week before he even played me again,” Devin said. “Then another time, like we sitting outside, he sitting there trying to bet me money trying to jump in the pool fully clothed.”

Devin further revealed how Rich Homie Quan often encouraged him to join him in the studio. “It’s many times like he was in the studio, making songs…” Devin added. “He really kept trying to get me to get in there.”

The children also spoke about their love for their father’s music, mentioning hits like “Money Fold,” “Krazy,” and “Lifestyle” as some of their favorites.

As the video concluded, the children sent a touching message to their dad: “I love you, daddy,” they said in unison, their voices filled with  emotion.

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died on September 5, 2024 at the age of 34 years old.

Initially, Quan’s father and manager, Corey Lamar, had planned a private service to “start the healing process”. However, recognizing the impact of Quan’s legacy, Lamar opted for a more public Celebration of Life.

“Without the fans, there would be no Quan,” Lamar said in a statement.

Rich Homie Quan left an indelible mark on the music scene with hits like “Walk Thru,” “Lifestyle,” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” and “Type of Way.”

To honor his memory, September 17 also saw the release of his first posthumous track, “Song Cry,” further celebrating his enduring legacy in the world of music.
