Rich Homie Quan’s girlfriend Amber Williams was the one who made the 911 call following her seeing that the rapper hadn’t moved from his spot when she returned home

Rapper Rich Homie Quan died at his home in Atlanta on Thursday, and his girlfriend was the one who found him.

Shortly following the Southern rhymer’s death, TMZ obtained an emergency call that was made in connection to his death. Rich Homie Quan’s girlfriend Amber Williams was the one who made the 911 call. She can be heard talking frantically as she explains to the 911 operator what was happening to him. Amber said that she had put a blanket over Rich Homie Quan in the morning while he was on the couch before she took her son to school.

However, when Amber returned home she realized that the hip-hop star hadn’t moved.

During the call, she revealed that she didn’t feel Rich Homie Quan’s heartbeat, and couldn’t see him breathing, according to TMZ. When she turned him over it resulted in him foaming at the mouth, per the news outlet. Richie Homie Quan’s body has been transported to the Fulton County morgue.

It hasn’t been revealed how the Type Of Way rapper died yet, but his significant other’s call to 911 does provide some insight. Many are mourning Rich Homie Quan’s death all over social media, especially his hip-hop peers.

Hip-hop singer Jacquees, a frequent collaborator of Rich’s, took to X, fka Twitter, to share condolences, posting: “Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan. I love you for Life. #Richgang.” Meanwhile, RHQ’s friend, Richard Stark, shared an Instagram Story post that stated, “I’m devastated,” following the shock news of Rich’s death.

His fans are also taking the news hard. One fan wrote on X: “I never ever felt no way about a celebrity death but Rich Homie Quan just hit me different… wtf.” RHQ signed to Motown Records, first releasing music in 2012. His debut mixtape was titled I Go In On Every Song. Rich didn’t release his first actual album until 2018 when he dropped Rich As In Spirit.

Some of his biggest hits include Type Of Way, which was released in 2013 and Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh), which was released in 2015. His track Ride Out, which featured Kid Ink, Tyga, Wale and YG, was his only charting track in the UK and reached number 70, and was taken from the soundtrack Furious 7: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
