El directo de Red Bull, Christian Horner, reconoció que la renovación de Checo Pérez no funcionó de la manera esperada y ahora suelta que el rendimiento del piloto le costó mucho al equipo.
“Nadie está más decepcionado que Checo por su temporada de este año. Y, obviamente, después de la temporada, nos tomaremos el tiempo para reflexionar sobre ello.
“Le ha costado adaptarse al coche y la falta de puntos del coche nos ha salido muy costosa“, dijo para motorsport.

“Checo estaba rindiendo, estaba cumpliendo. Hubo una coyuntura en su contrato que desencadenó la discusión.
“Los contratos siempre van a ser privados y confidenciales entre el piloto y el equipo, pero la razón por la que decidimos ejercerlo en ese momento fue para tener estabilidad después de que había estado en el podio en cuatro de cinco carreras en la primera parte del año”, justificó el jefe de la escudería.
