Michael Bublé Steals Kelsea Ballerini’s Artist in The Voice Battle

The first Battle of the night was on Kelsea Ballerini’s team, between 19-year-old Iris Herrera and 20-year-old Simone Marijic. The pair performed a duet of “Ceilings” by Lizzy McAlpine. Iris earned three chair turns from the coaches in her Blind Audition, after trying out unsuccessfully in Season 26. Simone earned two chair turns.

For their Battle, both singers showed off incredible vocal talent, letting the song build in power as it went on. After the performance, coach Michael Bublé commented on what a great song choice it was on Ballerini’s part, saying they both sang “so beautifully.”

Adam Levine said he regretted not turning for either singer in the Blind Auditions, but he said he would choose Iris as the winner. Ballerini said that they’re “both so talented” and jokingly called herself their “older sister by 10 years.”

She ultimately chose Iris as the winner of the Battle, sending her to the Knockouts on her team. However, it wasn’t the end of he road for Simone, because Bublé hit his button to steal her for his own team at the last second. He called her a “dark horse” to possibly win the show this season.
