Who is Performing in the Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show?

This marks Lamar’s first solo performance at the Super Bowl and the first time a solo rapper has headlined the halftime show.

Joining him onstage will be SZA, whose meteoric rise in the past year has solidified her as one of music’s most influential artists.

The duo teased their collaboration in a lighthearted promotional video released by Apple Music. The clip features SZA surprising Lamar by dumping a cooler of Gatorade-like liquid on him while he chats on a football field.

Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar, who made headlines for his critically acclaimed halftime appearance during Super Bowl LVI in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige, returns to take the spotlight as the main act.

In a statement, Lamar expressed his excitement, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

The Compton-born rapper has enjoyed a roller coaster career year, from a highly publicized rap feud with Drake, to releasing his sixth album, GNX, to critical acclaim.

SZA, fresh off her Grammy-winning album SOS, will join Lamar on the Super Bowl stage in February.

The St. Louis native spent 2024 on tour and preparing for her acting debut. Her musical and personal synergy with Lamar, as seen on several collaborations, is expected to elevate the halftime show to a new level.

Who Else is Performing at the Super Bowl?

The festivities include a strong lineup of Louisiana-native artists to celebrate the host city.

Jazz musician Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem, accompanied in American Sign Language by actress Stephanie Nogueras.

R&B legend Ledisi is set to perform Lift Every Voice and Sing, often referred to as the Black national anthem.

Trombone Shorty and Christian artist Lauren Daigle will perform America the Beautiful during the pregame ceremonies, according to Vogue.
