Nicole Kidman is expected to take a well-deserved break after completing the promotional tour for her new film. Sharing with The Hollywood Reporter on March 9, the Lion star said: “This year hasn’t been too stressful. Last year I was much more active,” and revealed that after completing the sequel to Nine Perfect Strangers, she will spend the rest of the year resting.
In her latest role, Nicole Kidman plays an introverted teacher in the small town of Holland, Michigan (USA). Over time, this character becomes paranoid that her husband (played by Matthew Macfadyen) is leading a double life. The film’s director, Mimi Cave, told Variety that Nicole Kidman brought “incredibly sharp instincts” as a producer, both in pre-production and post-production.
Mimi Cave highlighted Nicole Kidman’s dedication and attention to detail to each project, saying: “She doesn’t get too involved, she’s like a precise surgeon, knowing where to tweak the script. She respects the director’s vision so much that as soon as she starts shooting, she drops her producer role and becomes completely immersed in the character.” The director compared Nicole Kidman to “lightning in a bottle – she has to be mentally, physically and emotionally ready to live the character.”
