John Foster’s Moving Story Of Grief and Love

Not only did John Foster win the hearts of America with his smooth southern voice, but his story of grief moved the nation.

During Foster’s Top 20 performance, he sang an original song titled “Tell That Angel I Love Her.” The song is about his friend who tragically passed at 17 due to a car accident.

Some of the songs’ moving lyrics are,

“Each tear that falls on my guitar
Is a hug from afar
Lord, won’t you tell that angel I love her?
As y’all live in the stars”

Addis, Louisiana, welcomed the singer with open arms.

The singer returned home to enthusiastic crowds and strong community support for his Idol bid. Foster spent the day visiting his old neighborhoods and returning to his high school before ending the night with a concert by the water.

School secretary Aimee Rabalais said, “It’s nice to be in the news for something happy. We’ve had so much sorrow.” Referring to the car accident that took the lives of the two Louisiana teens.
