The talk show host delighted fans of both hitmakers when she whipped out “Uptown Girl” during the latest episode of her eponymous talk show, with one eagerly admitting that they’ve been “waiting for” her to give it a shot.
Clarkson donned a sleek power suit for the occasion—which also got fans talking—leaving her hair down loose as she effortlessly crooned and riffed on the ’80s hit with a smile.
As usual, fans gushed over the cover, with one fawning, “I love how her voice just adapts to every genre 🙂↕️.”
“She can sing anything and make it sound awesome!!!” another declared.
The performance was also uploaded to the show’s official Instagram account, where viewers were largely in awe of the cover.
“My favorite song from that era!!” one wrote excitedly, as another celebrated, “I’ve been waiting for this one.”
