Al inicio de la temporada 2024 de la F1, había grandes expectativas sobre lo que podría hacer Sergio Pérez con Red Bull tras el subcampeonato conseguido el año pasado.
Este domingo el piloto tapatío terminó décimo en el Gran Premio de Singapur, por lo que matemáticamente ya no tiene posibilidad alguna de proclamarse campeón en la máxima categoría del automovilismo profesional.

Pérez Mendoza ha tenido una campaña plagada de altibajos con solo cuatro podios en 18 carreras celebradas hasta el momento. No termina entre los tres primeros desde el 21 de abril, cuando fue tercero en el Gran Premio de China.
Hoy es octavo en el campeonato de pilotos con 144 puntos a falta de seis carreras para que termine la temporada. Su compañero de equipo en Red Bull, Max Verstappen, es primero con 331 puntos.
En el remoto caso de que Checo ganara los seis Grand Prix y los sprints (3) que restan y “Mad Max” no sumara nada, terminaría con 324 puntos, insuficientes para soñar con el título para su mala fortuna.
Cabe recordar que por carrera se le dan 25 puntos al ganador, 18 al segundo y 15 al tercero.
¿Cuántos podios tiene Checo Pérez en la F1?
Desde su debut en la Fórmula Uno en 2012 con Sauber, cuenta hasta la fecha con 39 podios. Sus mejores años fueron en 2022 y 2023 con 11 y 9 podios, respectivamente.
En caso de conseguir al menos uno más en lo que queda del año, igualará lo hecho en 2021 con 5, hasta ahora su tercera mejor campaña como profesional.
Próxima carrera de Checo Pérez en la F1
La F1 tendrá una pausa de cuatro semanas y se reanudará el domingo 20 de octubre con el Gran Premio de Estados Unidos en el Circuito de las Américas de Austin, Texas.
Checo Pérez tendrá tiempo para corregir errores y buscar el podio una semana más tarde en el GP de México en el Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez de la Ciudad de México.
