Richard Goodall shares how he and his wife Angie manage everyday life and expenses while competing on America’s Got Talent.

Over the last few months, the Terre Haute singer has been spending a lot of time in Pasadena, CA, juggling rehearsals, wardrobe fittings, and interviews for the show.

“When I’m not tied up with AGT events, Angie and I do the usual things, like laundry and grocery shopping,” Goodall shared, mentioning their laid-back nights with simple meals. “We’ve picked up lunch meat, cottage cheese, and cookies and just relaxed in our room.”

They’ve also explored the Los Angeles suburbs, enjoying new dining experiences that aren’t available back in Terre Haute. A GoFundMe page was set up to help the couple make the most of their time on the West Coast.

Despite the exciting AGT journey, Goodall still has bills to pay in Terre Haute, where he’s worked as a janitor for 23 years. “I saved up vacation days, so I’m still receiving a paycheck from the school corporation,” he explained.

Though AGT contestants don’t receive a salary, winners are awarded a $1 million prize, typically paid out over 40 years or as a lump sum with reduced value.
