“The Singing Janitor” Wins Season 19 Of America’s Got Talent

America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum is thrilled for newly crowned winner Richard Goodall, otherwise known as “The Singing Janitor.”

Klum and Goodall share a special connection that started after he auditioned for Season 19 of AGT. The beloved middle school janitor performed an inspiring rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Belivin’” and blew everyone away.

Klum showered Goodall with praise, telling him:

“Richard, Richard, Richard, you knocked me off my feet! We all had the best time with you up on that stage. I really feel something when I see you up there. This is what I’m going to do for you, because I love you.”

Then, Klum gave Goodall the biggest show of support by reaching forward to press the Golden Buzzer for him. Only a few acts have the potential to earn the Golden Buzzer during the auditions, so Klum’s gesture was a major showcase of her faith in Goodall’s talent.

Goodall continued to advance throughout the competition, charming viewers with additional covers of ’80s rock songs, such as Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You” and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”

Eventually, “The Singing Janitor” found himself competing in the Season 19 finale. As a finalist, he got the chance to perform “Don’t Stop Belivin’” with members of Journey, bringing things full circle.

Heidi Klum Shares Her Reaction To Richard Goodall’s AGT Victory

After Goodall was named the newest winner of AGT, Heidi Klum rushed to the stage to give him a hug. She also shared her reaction to his win in a series of posts on social media.

In one post, she shared a photo of her and the other AGT judges with Goodall taken after his crowning moment, captioning it:

“YIIIIPPPPPIIIII @richard.goodall you just WON @agt!!!…I knew from the first moment I saw you that you were destined to be a star … So so so proud of you my Golden Buzzer. Watching America fall in love with you like I did was the highlight of my season and I can’t wait to watch you continue to shine.”

Klum also posted a short video of the judges celebrating with Goodall onstage after the finale. She captioned it, “we love youuuuu.”
