According to 90 Day Fiancé blogger Shabooty, Ben was arrested in November 2024 for felony embezzlement to the tune of $1K to $20K from a charitable organization. It was the Michigan Lupus Foundation where Ben used to work when he filmed the show but was later fired. Ben was also being charged for not paying child support. The blogger claimed Ben was hiding out in Peru, and it had taken years for him to be caught. He was arrested as soon as he landed in the U.S. However, the attached mugshot showed how different Ben looked now.
Ben looked disheveled, and his long hair was tied in a ponytail. He didn’t look muscular like he did when fans met him on the show and had undergone severe weight loss. In a later update, the blogger Shabooty claimed that Ben “allegedly has cirrhosis of the liver” and was hospitalized in Peru. His family wanted him to get treatment in the U.S. and paid for his return to America as they were worried. Mahogany had supposedly accompanied Ben to the U.S. and she was now staying with his family in Michigan.
